One of the most frustrating things about getting into Web3 is that everything is scattered.
You need one site for market data, another for news, a different one for on-chain analytics — and your bookmarks become a mess. When you actually need something, you can't find it.
This post is a straightforward, organized collection of the tools I use regularly, grouped by category. No filler, no affiliate links — just the resources worth bookmarking.
All of them are also available on the Resources page on this site.
📰 News & Info
Staying informed doesn't mean reading everything. Pick one or two sources and stick to them.
- PANews — One of the most comprehensive Chinese-language Web3 news outlets. Good mix of breaking news and in-depth coverage.
- Odaily — Chinese crypto and Web3 media with fast, reliable reporting.
- BlockBeats — Strong on research and market narratives, not just price news.
- Cointelegraph — The mainstream English-language benchmark for global crypto news.
- The Block — Data-driven reporting with a focus on institutional and macro trends.
- Decrypt — More culture and product-focused — good for understanding where Web3 is headed socially.
📊 Data & Analytics
Price is the least interesting on-chain data point. These tools show you what's actually happening.
- RootData — Project research, funding rounds, token unlock schedules, and investor data. Essential for due diligence.
- DeBank — Portfolio tracker for Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains. Shows your full on-chain position across protocols.
- GMGN — On-chain data focused on meme tokens and short-term trading signals. Widely used for tracking smart money.
- CoinMarketCap — The standard reference for prices, market caps, and trading volumes.
- DeFiLlama — Total value locked across DeFi protocols. Good for understanding which chains and projects are actually being used.
- Dune Analytics — Custom on-chain dashboards built by the community. Incredibly powerful if you know what you're looking for.
🏦 Exchanges
The major centralized exchanges — Binance, OKX, Coinbase, Kraken, Bybit, Gate.io — are all listed on the resources page. Each has its own strengths depending on your region, preferred assets, and trading style. No single recommendation here; pick what fits your situation.
👛 Wallets
- MetaMask — Still the default for EVM chains. Not the most elegant, but has the broadest compatibility.
- Phantom — Originally built for Solana, now supports multiple chains. Clean interface, widely recommended.
- Binance Web3 Wallet / OKX Wallet — Good entry points if you're already using those exchanges and want to dip into on-chain activity.
💼 Jobs & Careers
A bear market is actually a good time to look for a Web3 job — there's less noise, and companies hiring now are typically building for the long term.
- web3.career — 70,000+ listings covering blockchain, smart contracts, and crypto — both technical and non-technical roles.
- Remote3 — Focused on remote Web3 work. Updated in real time with a Telegram job alert channel.
- CryptoJobsList — Clean and straightforward. Good for a quick browse without too much noise.
- DeJob — Web3 and remote jobs with a focus on the Asian market.
- A Better Web3 — A curated collection of Web3 career resources and opportunities, built by the community.
🛠️ Development & Docs
If you want to go beyond using Web3 and start building it, these are the starting points:
- Ethereum.org — The official Ethereum documentation. Covers concepts, development guides, and ecosystem resources.
- Solidity Docs — The official language reference for writing smart contracts.
- OpenZeppelin — Audited smart contract libraries. If you're writing contracts, you should be using these.
- Hardhat — The standard local development environment for Ethereum smart contracts.
